Privacy notice

Who we are

Ditton Advisory (“we”, “us”) owns and operates dittonadvisory.com and is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us at contact@dittonadvisory.com.

What we collect

We collect personal data only when you submit a form on this website — to contact us, to request a download, or to be notified when a product is released. Depending on the form, this is your name, work email address, company, message, and the product, service or page you asked about.

With each submission we also record the date and time, the page the form was sent from, and the country your request came from as indicated by our hosting provider. We do not record your IP address with your submission.

We use this information to reply to you, to provide the download you requested, to tell you when a product you asked about is released, and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

Our lawful bases are: taking steps at your request (enquiries and downloads); your consent (release notifications, which you can withdraw at any time); and our legitimate interest in running and securing our business and keeping records of our correspondence.

Hosting and analytics

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which also stores form submissions on our behalf and provides the website’s security.

This website does not set cookies.

Purchases

When you select a Buy button you leave this website. Digital purchases are completed on Gumroad, which acts as the merchant of record: it processes your payment, collects any applicable sales tax or VAT, and delivers the product, under its own privacy and cookie policies. Kindle and paperback purchases are completed on Amazon under Amazon’s policies. We receive from Gumroad the information needed to fulfil and support your purchase, such as your name, email address and what you bought. We do not receive your payment card details.

Email handling

Website form submissions are stored by Cloudflare for us to review and reply to. When you email us directly, your message is held in our business mailbox, which is provided by Zoho. We use your email only to correspond with you about your enquiry or purchase, and to send release notifications you have asked for. Every notification tells you how to stop receiving them.

Retention

We keep enquiries and related correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless we need them longer to meet a legal, tax or accounting obligation or because we are working together. Release notification requests are kept until the product is released or you ask us to stop. Download requests are kept for up to 24 months.

Your rights

If the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR applies to you, you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the authority in your country. Other privacy laws may give you similar rights. To exercise any of them, email us.

Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it, we rely on the transfer safeguards those providers offer.
